Capt. C.A. Richardson caught a Seatrout while filming for an upcoming episode of Flats Class TV with Capt. Buddy Kirkhart.
-Growing up in a fishing family, it was easy for me to fall in love with the water. My father was a world champion taxidermist and the owner of New Wave Taxidermy. We fished whenever we had free time. At the age of 12, my father took me on a Boy's trip to the Everglades. I came back with a new focus. At 12, fishing became my passion! By 13, I decided it was time for me to catch my first BIG Snook. My dad and I pursued that goal relentlessly. In May of that year, after weeks of fishing, I hooked what I thought was a big Snook. It turned out to be a Reeeeally big Seatrout. The fish was, and is, the Jr. Angler world record. By the next summer, my parents were showing off their work at the Shallow Water Fishing Expo's across the southeast. It was there that I met some of the Greats of Fishing. I met the host of the Walker's Cay Chronicles- Flip Pallot. I spoke with the Spanish Fly host, the Late, Great- Jose Wejebe. We talked Tarpon.... And I chased Lefty Kreh around with every Sage and GLoomis I could put my hands on. We spoke of casting technique and Fly tying... Fast forward to 2012- I ran into a friend who looked at me and said, "Dude!?! I thought for sure you were gonna' end up as a Fly fishing guide in the Keys!!" He was right! I had to get to work on it! I had been "Guiding" my friends and family for years...

I I feel very blessed to be able to do this!

-Capt. Buddy Kirkhart.
