New Skiff!!!

Yay!!!!!! I finally took delivery of my New 2019 Hell’s bay Marquesa. I love the new carbon Innegra hull! She is even lighter than the previous hull.
She is basically outfitted as my previous skiff with a few exceptions. I had the boys at Hell’s bay add a few more lights and changed a few minor factors. The new skiff is Medium Grey with a beautiful Guide green non-Skid. I went with the same power on this skiff. Yamaha builds the most consistent and reliable outboard motors so naturally that’s what I went with!
To top her off I added a NEW Humminbird Solix 12 SI MEGA + g2 to garantee no fish are overlooked. The clarity of the side imaging picture from this unit is truly incredible. There is nothing else like it on the market. I have a Minn Kota ulterra on the bow and will soon be installing a 8’ Talon on the stern. I’m excited to continue to be a part of the Johnson Outdoors family. These tools will help me to be the best Guide I can be in part of their synchronicity. It is truly a one boat network. I can literally control the functions of both the ulterra Trolling motor and the Talon shallow water anchor from the behind the Solix.
So far I am impressed with the new prop. I changed to a 19 pitch 4 blade and LOVE the hole shot. She also retains her original top speed!!

.... best of all!!!! SHE HAS BEEN CHRISTENED WITH SNOOK SLIME!! 😉

Spring has sprung! The snook fishing has been really consistent in the last few weeks. We are concentrating on heavy structure and tide. Most fish are 20”-30” but a few overslot fish make their way on deck. We have also been getting some nice redfish in the mix. Big Jacks are cruising the seawalls with opportunities for true trophies. Some of these jacks are in excess to 25lbs. That’s a tackle tester!! I’ll be looking for my small tarpon to show up in force soon.

Offshore days are are rare in the skiff, but there are plenty of cobia, Big jacks, and the occasional tarpon to target. Spinner shark action is slowing down.

I’m just about to take delivery of the new Skiff!! A 2019 Hell’s bay Marquesa! Stay tuned...
